Kristopher Hilbert is an artist, recordist, and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Musicology at the CUNY Graduate Center. He holds an MA in philosophy from The New School for Social Research and a BA in sociology from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Over the past 15 years, he has been involved in hundreds of recordings as a musician, producer, engineer, and mixer. He has worked with artists such as The Body, Chris Corsano, Ryley Walker, The Love Language, and Trioscapes.

He has taught philosophy, cultural theory, and music production at Fordham University, Parsons School of Design, and Borough of Manhattan Community College.

His current research focuses on the proliferation of magnetic tape in the twentieth century through music, technologies, raw materials, governmentality, and ethics. He also works on Nietzsche and post-structuralism.
